Beginner-Friendly Kids Karate & Family Martial Arts in Vero Beach

In just the first few months, I watched my young daughter grow in confidence, coordination, and self-belief. As an older woman, I was initially cautious about jumping in physically, but the instructors have been exceptional. They’ve created an environment that is supportive, inclusive, and adaptable, allowing me to train comfortably while still being challenged. Learning side by side with my daughter has been incredibly special and rewarding. Also just the ability of being able to defend one’s self I think is so important and something I would have wanted as a child if offered to me back in the day. We recently enrolled our 8-year-old in the karate program, and it’s been a great choice. The instructors are calm, supportive, and keep the kids interested throughout the class. We’ve already seen improvements in confidence and attention, even outside the dojo. Overall, a very welcoming place for kids to learn and develop.

We’re so glad we found FKA. Our oldest started a few years ago, and we’ve been blown away ever since. Sensei Dave does an incredible job teaching discipline, respect, and hard work, while also helping the kids grow into confident, well-rounded individuals. He really cares about who they are becoming, not just how they perform in karate. He also makes a point to greet everyone who walks through the doors and makes sure they feel right at home right away. It really feels like a community, and we’re so grateful to be a part Of the fka family!

I can’t say enough great things about Florida Karate Academy. My daughter has been a student here for five years and it has been incredible to watch her grow into such a confident young lady. She recently joined the competition team and has been training hard for her first season of tournaments. Seeing her earn a silver medal at her latest competition plus the huge smile that came with it made all that effort truly worthwhile. Sensei Dave Roth leads an outstanding, family oriented dojo. The supportive environment and dedication to each student really sets this place apart.
